We used our feet to make foot prints which will become bats to decorate our bulletin board.

Thursday Investigation
Today was our weekly vegetable/fruit investigation and cooking day. Last week we conducted an investigation of several varieties of apples and cooked apple pie. This week we did our first investigation of the beets in our school garden. We have two varieties. Each child harvested a beet. Students examined them using all of their senses and available tools (magnifying glasses, plastic knives). Then we made some delicious "greens and cheddar" quesadillas, and roasted buttered beets. When asking your child's opinion, please ask, "Did you LOVE IT, LIKE IT, or NOT like it YET?" These are the terms we use throughout the year when trying new things. The three Kindergarten students, seasoned food adventurers from last year, all concurred that they "LOVED IT!" Several PreK agreed with them. The worms in the composting bin loved them too.

After investigating the green house and the garden, Pre K students were introduced to "the fort in the forest". Thank you Kindergarten for sharing this special place!
